The Chicago chef and owner of Virtue Restaurant in Hyde Park has reached across the country with a gesture involving another high profile Black chef. Charlie Daniels 1936-2020 signature thank you for the memories shirt

Daniels, a member of the Country Music Hall of Fame and Grand Ole Opry, passed away on Monday at Summit Medical Center from a hemorrhagic stroke. He was 83.
